Edinburgh driver
Maker:
William Cunningham
, Edinburgh Date: 1920
A fine looking, and certainly playable, persimmon driver from a small Edinburgh firm.
Stamped on the crown "W Cunningham Edinburgh" in an oval, the original gold paint is still visible. Below this oval is stamped "Special".
The sole is in perfect condition, the black fibre slip secured in the traditional way by three hickory dowels.
The straight hickory shaft is stamped "T Auchterlonie St Andrews". Perhaps he made the club, it dates from around the time he set up in business on his own account or perhaps it is a later replacement. The club is finished with a black rubberised replacement grip.
Price $190.00 Reference: D330
