John Letters & Co
Glasgow

The company was founded in 1918 as Letters, Logan & Co.and became John Letters in 1923 and, after being rescued from bankruptcy in 2005, it continued until finally going into receivership in 2021.

Unlike many competitors, John Letters was a businessman rather than a golfer and, again unlike many competitors, rather than make clubs in traditional golfing towns, he plumped for manufacturing in Scotland's industrial heartland. Their first cleek mark was commemorated with their final factory name, The Old Bridge Golf Works.
